Warrington Wolves coach Steve Price and former Wigan boss Shaun Wane are believed to be among the names shortlisted for the vacant Newcastle Knights head coaching job.
It was confirmed overnight that current Knights coach Nathan Brown will part ways with the club at the end of the season – an announcement very few were expecting.
There have since been a number of potential candidates that have emerged, with Fox Sports listing 12 possible replacements.
Among them are Price and Wane, as well as former Hull KR head coach Tim Sheens, former Catalans boss Kevin Walters and ex-Super League players Trent Barrett, Craig Fitzgibbon and Jason Ryles.
Other names being thrown into the ring include Anthony Griffin, Garth Brennan, Shane Flanagan and rumoured St Helens targets Adam O’Brien and Kristian Woolf.
An announcement confirming the new head coach isn’t expected for some time yet, however it would be a huge blow to the Wolves should Price prove to be the number one target.
