Few will be looking beyond Wigan Warriors once more next year as they look to build on their 2024 quadruple. Matt Peet’s side won all four trophies on offer to them last season as they produced a showing that can only be described as dominant in Super League and the play-offs that followed, while memorable wins came in the Challenge Cup and the World Club Challenge.
Indeed, it was a season to remember for those of a Cherry and White persuasion and, while most of the senior group are yet to return to first-team training, it’s fair to say they’ll be motivated to retain their stronghold on the game heading into next season.
They are the early favourites to do just that, too, with Wigan topping odds lists across the market. Sky Bet has the Warriors at 11/8 to win the League Leaders’ Shield and 6/4 to win the Grand Final with those prices making the club the frontrunners by some distance.
St Helens, who have a point to prove in 2025, and Warrington Wolves are joint second favourites to top the league and get their hands on the League Leaders’ Shield. They’re both priced at 4/1, while Hull KR, who came within a whisker of topping the league last season are at 5/1.
Willie Peters’ side will have ambitions of going one better after finishing second in the league and losing in the Grand Final and they’ll fancy themselves to do exactly that with the signings they’ve made in the off-season.
Leeds Rhinos are another side who have recruited well and they’re at 12/1 to top the league, while Catalans Dragons are 25/1 after making a raft of signings from Down Under.
Leigh Leopards are 33/1 and Salford Red Devils, who finished fourth last season are priced at 50/1. Hull FC and Huddersfield Giants are way down the odds list at 66/1, while Castleford Tigers and Super League newcomers Wakefield Trinity are at 100/1.
