Powell gives update on McShane injury

Daryl Powell Head Coach of Castleford Tigers walks out onto the pitch

Castleford Tigers Head Coach Daryl Powell has said Paul McShane will have a scan in a couple of days to determine the severity of his ankle injury.

McShane picked up the injury in the first half of Castleford’s  29-18 win over Salford Red Devils at the Magic Weekend. He did not come back out for the second half.

Powell admitted he did not know much at this stage.

He said: “Obviously losing Paul at half-time put us under pressure. But I thought Adam (Milner) came in and had a really good second half.

“He has done that twice for us this year, and has been exceptional.

“Paul is an ankle injury. I am not sure what level it is, but he couldn’t get on in the second half, so it was a painful one. He’ll have a scan, and we will take it from there.”
