Powell confirms five absentees

Castleford Tigers Head Coach Daryl Powell has confirmed five of his senior players will be unavailable for their match against Catalans Dragons.

Powell confirmed Sosaia Feki, Cheyse Blair, Dan Smith, Jesse Sene-Lefao and Liam Watts will all be unavailable.

Blair is unavailable because of having to have an injection in his back, while Watts will miss out after an accident at home, that saw him cut his arm with a saw.

Powell said: “We’ve picked up a couple of injuries during lockdown. Players aren’t far away, but we will be missing a few.

“We will be missing Dan Smith, Jesse Sene-Lefao and Cheyse Balir has had a guided injection in his back, which is something he has had a problem with for a while, so he won’t be out there.

“Liam Watts had an accident at home, so he will be missing as well.

“I’ll make a decision on Derrell Olpherts and James Clare that they will start on the wings. Sosaia Feki won’t play at the weekend.

“We still have a strong squad, and we expect to do well in this game.”
