The police are set to investigate claims of alleged racism into a schools game in Leeds, the Yorkshire Evening Post has reported.

The said incident took place on Wednesday afternoon on playing fields across from the Corpus Christi Catholic College school in Halton Moor.

During the match between Corpus Christi and Abbey Grange Church of England Academy, a group of youths gathered around the field, with racist comments allegedly being made.

Police are working in tandem with the schools, with a crime recorded for a racially aggravated public order offence, in a bid to receive information.

James O’Doherty, the Principal of Corpus Christi Catholic College, said: “We are aware of an incident that occurred off-site by a member of the public unrelated to either school.

“The police have been made aware.

“As a College, we do not condone any discriminatory or offensive behaviour.”

It becomes the latest racist allegation after a fixture between Bedford Tigers and Hemel earlier in the season left a player in tears.
