We’re at a unique stage of the Betfred Super League season in 2023 up and down the entire table with the play-off race heating up after Leeds Rhinos claimed a vital win over Salford Red Devils and Hull FC claimed the derby bragging rights against Hull KR.
Meanwhile the relegation battle is red hot too after Wigan Warriors were stunned by Wakefield Trinity at the weekend which allowed them to cut the gap on Castleford Tigers in the fight for survival down to just two points.
The fight at the top is captivating as well with Leigh Leopards well in the mix just behind Catalans Dragons in the fight for top spot with St Helens in third and Warrington Wolves and Wigan just behind.
But you cannot help but focusing on the play-off race at the centre of the table which is now wide open.
For a long time, Hull KR looked nailed on to make the play-offs but things haven’t been going their as of late.
The injuries are beginning to mount up and they haven’t been picking up the results.
They have some big games ahead taking on Leeds this weekend who are level on points with the Robins and also just two points behind Salford Red Devils. Then they take on the Wigan Warriors in the Challenge Cup semi-finals.
A lot to be positive but injuries are mounting and the defeat to Hull FC was a sizeable setback.
They will be hoping that can be negated by the arrival of Brad Schneider at the club.
However, Phil Clarke has said that they need a miracle for this to pay off.
He said on Sky Sports: “Expecting a player like that to come in and hit the ground running and save your season is like asking for a miracle.”
Schneider is set to debut against Leeds next week.
