Phil Clarke says shock Super League team “can get to the Grand Final” despite poor run of form

There are a few teams doing it tough at the moment in Super League.

Almost all of them are from West Yorkshire.

Wakefield Trinity sit bottom of the league still waiting for a first win of the season.

Castleford Tigers have just two wins to their name and haven’t won since Easter whilst Huddersfield Giants’ form has been difficult since the Easter period as well.

Tipped by some to finish in the top two, Huddersfield have won just four games this season and are closer to the bottom than the top at present.

Their last defeat was particularly worrying as they lost 30-4 at home to newly promoted Leigh Leopards.

After this however, Sky Sports’ Phil Clarke still backed them to get to the Grand Final in 2023 if they can turn it around:

“You need to keep your head when you are losing games. Huddersfield are losing lots of games but they are a side I think can easily turn things around in the second half of the season and be a team that can get to the Grand Final.”

Perhaps a good example of that would be what Leeds Rhinos were able to achieve going from 11th to the Grand Final last season.
