Many have been impressed by the Leigh Leopards in 2023.
They are even in the top four after the mid way stage.
Phil Clarke has warned that he expects them to get even better as the season goes on.
He also said he feels up to five of their stars could make the Super League Dream Team:
“Usually a newly promoted side improves as the season goes on so it is quite worrying for the other teams where Leigh could end up given where they are in the table at the moment.
“Someone asked me to pick my Dream Team so far this season. We have spoken about Edwin Ipape, but Tom Amone and John Asiata are three forwards are great and Josh Charnley and Lachlan Lam are certainly in the conversation.
“All the things you need to be a successful side are there.”
Brian Carney meanwhile praised owner Derek Beaumont: “They’re embracing this journey together. Others would look back and say you haven’t won anything, but they are enjoying themselves.”
Barrie McDermott added:
“I agree and that’s what sport is about. You have to try and make professional sport fun and enjoyable and they are doing that and working with the fans to create an enjoyable season.
“I think Chris Chester deserves a lot of credit. In his role, he is recruiting players and retaining.
“In a salary cap sport, it is not just about money. You can have money but it is how you spend it.”
