Phil Clarke blasts signing of Greg Inglis

If there was anything to conclude from last night’s play-off game between Warrington Wolves and Hull KR, it was that teamwork can often trumps a side full of big names.

And, for Sky Sports pundit Phil Clarke, decisions such as those to sign Greg Inglis came back to haunt the Wolves last night and during the season.

The former Wigan forward was adamant that Warrington head coach Steve Price should have given youngsters like Matty Ashton more game time rather than spending money on the likes of Inglis.

“Greg Inglis is 35, injury-prone and he was available for a reason,” Clarke said.

“I think that was the wrong decision, they’ve got players like Matty Ashton and Connor Wrench waiting in the wings and you’ve seen what they can do given the opportunity.”
