“Phenomenal” World Cup star available for loan

Huddersfield Giants have an exceptional squad especially in the spine.

At fullback they have the likes of former Salford Red Devils star Tui Lolohea, ex-Hull FC man and star signing Jake Connor and NRL bound Will Pryce as well as the versatile Ash Golding who can also cover nine.

Speaking of nine, the Giants have brought Nathan Peats back to the club in 2023 after a successful loan spell in 2021.

He is supported by Golding and Adam O’Brien which saw them allow George Roby move to Bradford Bulls on loan.

Meanwhile in the halves, they of course have Lolohea, Connor and Pryce in the midst. Meanwhile they of course have former Super League Champion Theo Fages as well as the brilliant Olly Russell.

All of this could see Ian Watson allow Kieran Rush to join a Championship on loan.

The young halfback starred for Jamaica in the World Cup and has “been phenomenal” in pre-season according to Watson who confirmed his availability to loan on the Giants’ website.

Watson said: “We had a lot of young guys play last season, we want to continue that this season and the younger guys need to be ready and grab the opportunity with both hands when it comes, as we have some quality young lads within our squad.

“On loans, we want to have a little look at Kieran Rush, he’s been phenomenal in pre-season and in training, we want to help him develop and maybe look at the Championship for Kieran, where he can really grow as a player.”
