Hull KR boss Willie Peters explains his main focus ahead of Warrington Wolves clash

Hull KR Head Coach Willie Peters post match press conference

Hull KR head coach Willie Peters has given his thoughts ahead of a huge semi-final clash against Warrington Wolves in Super League.

The Robins go into the game as slight favourites, finishing second in the league, but the Wire come into the game with the momentum of coming out on top in a classic match against St Helens last week.

It does, however, mean Peters’ side are well-rested, having had a week off due to finishing in the top two.

Speaking to the press ahead of the huge tie, Peters said: “The game on Saturday with Warrington and St Helens, going down right to the end, going to Golden Point, that’s what you want finals to be like as a spectator.

“Not so much for coaches, but for the fans. It was a great game to watch and two very good teams going at it.

“Naturally, it was a physically intense game, so it can take its toll on the body, that’s for sure. So they’d have a plan around that, I’m sure, but I’m not too concerned about what they do. We’ve had some good preparation going in and that’s what my focus is on.”

On the Wolves, he added: “We’ve played them three times. There was one game there, especially the first half, we weren’t happy with it all. And then we’ve had two tight games.

“We respect what Warrington’s done all season and where they’re at but we deserve to be where we are at the moment as well, so we need to go prove that again. We’ve got to build it again and go prove why we finished where we did and the fact we’re on a journey and it’s not finished yet.”
