Peter Mata’utia speaks out against latest restrictions

Peter Mata’utia has spoken out against the latest restrictions imposed by Downing Street in the wake of the COVID-19 issue.

The latest restrictions have come in despite the government themselves allegedly breaking the law in hosting their own Christmas party last December when the millions of Britons living in the UK were told they couldn’t fraternise with people outside of their own homes.

Now, with society preparing itself for tougher times as the Omicron variant reportedly sweeps through the world, people – and sportsmen included – are speaking out against.

One of those is Warrington Wolves’ new signing Peter Mata’utia who laughed off the possibility of enduring tighter restrictions at Christmas time.

Mata’utia was in defiance: “I believe there is a pandemic & I also believe I won’t be spending Xmas alone this year.”

It’s been a common theme in recent weeks and months as people get more frustrated, but at least we all have the rugby league season to look forward to in the New Year.

Warrington have rebuilt heavily as they attempt to improve on their play-off exit at the first time of asking in 2021, with new head coach Daryl Powell coming in and bringing six new signings with him – including Mata’utia who played under him at Castleford.
