Pauli Pauli opens up on Super League exit

Pauli Pauli’s transfer to the York City Knights was confirmed over the weekend, with the rampaging forward now taking to his social media to open up on his exit.

The 27-year-old had most recently been playing for the Salford Red Devils, but spent two seasons prior to that at Wakefield Trinity after coming over from the NRL.

Pauli had played almost 50 times in the NRL during spells at Parramatta Eels and Newcastle Knights before making the move to  Super League and York head coach James Ford was very pleased to acquire his signature.

“Pauli is someone I’m really looking forward to working with and I’m keen to help him play at the very top of his game,” Ford said.

“He’s a big, intimidating man who will add another dimension to our game in attack and defence.

“I’ve spoken to a number of people about Pauli and there was a unanimous opinion that he’s a player I’d enjoy working with.”

And, now Pauli Pauli has spoken out for the first time since the move: “First and foremost would like to thank God for the opportunity to still be playing…would just like to thank @salfordreddevilsrlfc for the opportunity to have played with them it has been an awesome ride…to the fans thank you for all your support throughout the years we wouldn’t of made it without you guys 🙌🏽🙌🏽❤️ but keen to beginning a journey and grow as a player…thank you all for the support and love…once a DEVIL always a DEVIL ❤️❤️🙏🏾🙏🏾”
