Paul Sculthorpe reveals who should take over at Castleford Tigers

There are still plenty of discussions taking place right now about who should take over at Castleford Tigers following the departure of Lee Radford after three games.

For Eorl Crabtree this appointment is key though he did specify that the Tigers looked a lot better against Leeds Rhinos last week than they did against his former team Huddersfield Giants the week before.

“They were very disappointing and poor against us the week before and to be honest I was wondering to myself where that win would come from,” Crabtree said on the Last Tackle Podcast.

“I didn’t expect it against Leeds. They should up and put in a really good performance and Leeds have also been finding it tough at times throughout the early parts of the season already but Castleford really showed up as well.

“It was Andy Last’s first win so big smiles on faces and hopefully it’s the start of things to come to come for them.”

Meanwhile, Paul Sculthorpe believes interim coach Andy Last should take permanent charge:

“I think he should he is experienced enough. He has made it clear that he wants the job, he is a really passionate coach, a really knowledgeable coach and it seems the players want to play for him.

“I thought that was the change in Castleford’s performance last week against the Leeds, the enthusiasm and the energy levels.”
