Paul Sculthorpe doesn’t want Morgan Knowles to change his game

Morgan Knowles misses out for St Helens with a "grumbling groin issue".

Despite picking up another ban this week, his predecessor in the St Helens 13 shirt has said that he shouldn’t lose the aggressive side of his game.

That said he also stated that Knowles needs to be more controlled

“Morgan Knowles is one of the best players in the competition and you want to see him out on the field. As I say, one of his best traits is that competitiveness, that will to win. You certainly don’t want to lose that. It’s just got to be controlled with the way the games gone,” he said on The Last Tackle.

He went on to say that the Saints players need to be more accountable:

“They’ve got to make the players more accountable. There’s no doubt Wello’s said it numerous times in his post-match analysis. The players have got to be made accountable to this. There is far too many players missing games.

“We know that everybody loves the gladiatorial game of Rugby League and the physicality. We both loved it, that’s why we played the game. But the rules have changed and players have got to learn to adapt.

“You cannot spend more time on the sidelines than you are on the pitch and there’s too many Saints players doing that.”
