Paul Rowley’s assessment of Wakefield Trinity ahead of today’s clash

Salford Red Devils head coach Paul Rowley

Paul Rowley has told the Salford Red Devils’ website about how impressed he has been with Wakefield this season.

The Red Devils visit to Wakefield’s Belle Vue Stadium this afternoon with a place in the top six up for grabs for the side who claims the win.

Salford have won three and lost three in the league having downed Leeds in the last round. Meanwhile, Wakefield, despite a difficult start have won the last three in league and cup with some outstanding performances.

The two meet today as they look to continue their positive starts to 2022 as Rowley looks to guide Salford to their fourth win of the season and he has now acknowledged how impressive Wakefield have been recently.

“I think they’ve been great; I think Willie’s done a great job,” Rowley told the Red Devils’ website, “They’ve had two tremendous wins against Warrington over the last couple of weeks and some of their tries have been phenomenal.

“They really like to play on the front foot and push well, they offload a lot and take the line on well – lots of runners like (Mason) Lino and Jacob Miller – and obviously Johnstone is playing fantastically for them as well so he’s always a threat.

“So I’d say they’ve got threats all over the field in that respect and they’re flying high in confidence at the minute so it’s a really dangerous game for us.”
