Paul Rowley says Super League club need to start living up to the size of the club on the field

Salford Red Devils head coach Paul Rowley

After seven defeats on the spin, Hull FC are expected to make it three wins in a row tonight as they take on bottom club Wakefield Trinity after wins over Huddersfield Giants and Wigan Warriors in the last two outings.

Many were shocked by their win over Wigan but Salford Red Devils coach Paul Rowley wasn’t.

“They weren’t doing too well but I actually called that win against Wigan, I thought they might have done something there,” he said on BBC Five Live.

He went on to say they are a good team on paper but said they need their on field performances need to start to fit the size of the club:

“They’re clearly a team that on paper are a good team and they always say Hull are a big club, well they are aren’t they? They’re a proud and historic club and they need the team to match what they do off the field I guess.

“It’s always a big game playing Hull because the name of Hull carries a lot of weight and expectation.

“It was a matter of them gelling and finding what works with quite a few new players which takes time.”

Hull will hope to continue to progress with a win tonight.
