Gallen Super League move unlikely

Paul Gallen Super League

Paul Gallen is unlikely to be in Super League next season after discussing playing on into next season with Cronulla.

The Sharks veteran forward, who turns 36 in August, said he would consider a move to England for 2018 following this year’s World Club Series defeat against Wigan.

However, Gallen told Triple M that he will play on next season and has full intentions of signing on for another year with the NRL Premiers.

“I haven’t signed but I’ve spoken to the club. There’s no reason why I can’t keep playing. I’m still doing what I did two, three, four or five years ago,” he said.

“Would I leave the Sharks? It would have to be a very, very, very good offer for me to leave the Sharks, so no, I probably wouldn’t (leave).

“I look at myself to other players in my position, what I’m doing, what I’m getting through on the field. As long as I keep doing them well, I can keep playing.”
