Paul Gallen heading to England

Australian Rugby League legend Paul Gallen will visit the UK in October.

The 37-year-old, who is retiring at the end of this season, will do a week-long tour speaking about his career at charity dinners in Leeds, St Helens, Hull and Doncaster.

Having broke Cronulla’s all-time appearance record in March, Gallen announced he would retire at the end of 2019 stating he has “had enough of the rollercoaster.”

His decision will have disappointed several Super League fans with Gallen previously expressing an interest at ending his career in the British game.

When on English shores for the 2017 World Club Challenge, he said: “I love the game over here and playing in Super League is certainly something I would like to do.”

But with that now out of the question, the veteran forward will instead tour the UK as a guest speaker with tickets already on sale courtesy of RM Sports Events.
