Parcell could miss rest of the season

Hull KR hooker Matt Parcell could miss the rest of this season if he requires surgery for an injured shoulder, according to the club website.

The 26-year-old has impressed since joining KR on loan from Leeds, scoring two tries in three games, including one in the derby win over Hull FC.

However, he may now be forced to sit out the remainder of 2019, after injuring his shoulder in a tackle during Friday’s win over his parent club.

Hull KR head physiotherapist Dan Ramsden said: “Matt has had initial scans following his shoulder injury sustained on Friday.

“He will meet with our shoulder specialist tomorrow (Wednesday) to establish the most appropriate treatment plan moving forward, this could involve a period of rehabilitation or potentially surgery.

“Return to play following surgery would be approximately four months.

“Matt will also complete the standard head injury return to play protocol having also sustained a concussion during the tackle.”
