OurLeague to stream Challenge Cup tie next week

The oldest and most prestigious competition in rugby league begins again next week with Round One of the Challenge Cup taking place.

The tournament begins with 14 knockout ties as the road to Tottenham Hotspurs’ new stadium begins with the competition breaking new ground taking the final to the Premier League’s newest and best looking stadium on 28th May.

Due to the history and the size of the competition, it’s starting point always attracts attention with BBC already confirming they’d be covering Orrell St James’ tussle with the British Army next Saturday as the battle for St Helens’ trophy truly begins.

Now, OurLeague have joined in the fun confirming they’ll be showing the second tie of the 2022 Challenge Cup between Bentley and Stanningley on Sunday as the two sides meet in the first round of the tournament.

Bentley will be hoping for a repeat of the last time they appeared on the popular streaming service when they beat the RAF 18-10 in the 2020 Challenge Cup.

Meanwhile, Stanningley will be hoping to do former player and MBE Jamie Jones-Buchanan proud. The seven-time Super League Champion began his journey at the Leeds based club and is always keen to recognise the role they played in his incredible rugby league journey which has now seen him awarded with an MBE in the New Year’s Honours List following in the footsteps of fellow ex-Stanningley junior and nine-time Super League Champion Jamie Peacock.

The game should be an enjoyable spectacle for fans to enjoy both in attendance and on the OurLeague app and will kick-off at 2pm.
