Jordan Turner was voted as your Our League Try of the Season winner thanks to his stunning last-gasp effort in Castleford Tigers’ victory over Hull Kingston Rovers earlier this year in the Betfred Challenge Cup.
Turner dotted down, but the magic was created on the inside by Castleford’s wonderman Paul McShane after he drew in three defenders to send the former Huddersfield Giants and St Helens utility man down the wing.
Castleford would later go on and win that fixture against Hull KR in Golden Point and would go all the way to the Challenge Cup Final where they lost against St Helens.
“It’s a strange feeling actually, I feel a bit of a fraud because I was on the end of some work from some special players especially Paul McShane who played a miracle passage of play,” Turner said.
“It’s great that the team got recognition of how special it was – it was a turning point in our season and it put us on the road to the Challenge Cup Final.
“I hadn’t had a good game up until that point, it was a good job that I finished it or it would have been a nightmare for me.”
