Ottawa sign second French International

Ottawa Aces have completed the signing of back Gavin Marguerite from Catalans Dragons ahead of the 2021 season.

Marguerite came through the academy at Toulouse, where he scored 40 tries in 70 games for the Championship side.

He then joined the Dragons, but in the reserve squad.

Reacting to the news, he said: “I choose to join Ottawa Aces as it’s an exciting project. I want to be part of it, and help the club to reach their objectives.  Ottawa is also the Canadian capital and for all French people it is a dream to go and play over there. Aces High.”

Head Coach Laurent Frayssinous added: “Gavin is a fantastic signing for us. He has all the attributes to become a great outside back in our game. He is fast, strong, powerful, and reads the defences well. He also can play multiple positions in the backs and will add a lot to our squad.”
