Ottawa add ex-Warrington and Widnes forward Moran

Ottawa have confirmed the signing of Irish international prop Pat Moran, following his release from Widnes last week.

The 22-year-old joins fellow former Vikings Sam Wilde, Tom Gimore and the Chapelhow brothers, Jay and Ted, in making the move to Canada, and becomes the seventh member of the Aces squad, along with Louis Jouffret and Matty Fozard.

Moran started his career with Warrington, making two appearances, and had successful loan spells with Rochdale and Sheffield before joining the Vikings ahead of this season, where he made seven appearances.

“I’m very excited to be joining the Ottawa Aces for 2021 season.” he said. “I’m very grateful for the opportunity and I’m really looking forward to getting started.

“The chance to make history with a brand new rugby league club really excites me; can’t wait to get it going, see you all in 2021.”

Ottawa head coach Laurent Frayssinous added: “I am ecstatic with the signing of Pat Moran. Pat is coming from a good system and is very hungry to make history with the Ottawa Aces.

“He has all the tools to become a great front rower and I am very excited to work with him.”
