One off contract player Leigh Leopards should try and sign

Though the 2023 Super League season has yet to begin, preparations for beyond that will have already begun especially as most sides have already done all their business for the 2023 barring the likes of Catalans Dragons, Leigh Leopards and potentially Salford Red Devils.

As in the NRL, considerations will be made to how squads for the 2024 season will look especially after they set the precedent down under of making signings well in advance because of the 1st November rule.

All sides have players off contract at the end of 2023 all of whom could feasible move away in 2024 though in general their current clubs have first dibs.

That doesn’t stop teams from trying to sign them however as we always see plenty of movement confirmed well in advance of a new season.

But which off contract player should Leigh Leopards be targeting?

The Leopards have recently lost Blake Ferguson on compassionate grounds and therefore could consider making a move for one of the top wingers who are coming off contract.

The likes of Wakefield Trinity youngster Lewis Murphy and Hull KR man and ex-Leeds Rhinos star Ryan Hall.

Either of these would make great signings for the Leopards and Hall would fit the bill for the signings they have made already with him being a big name.

He also is a very similar winger to Ferguson.
