One of Super League’s best returns as young international could make his debut

After a number of close defeats to top teams, Huddersfield Giants take on third place Catalans Dragons on Friday knowing that a win is vital.

The Giants lately came up short against Leeds Rhinos on Easter Sunday.

The Giants led 12-0 and 13-4 but a spirited second half from the Rhinos saw them edge the game 18-17 in the eighth time in the last 12 games between the two that has been decided by a converted try or less.

They will be desperate to be on the right side of the scoreline this week against a Catalans Dragons side who came up short against League Leaders Warrington Wolves last week.

These two always serve up real battles and this week should be no different.

The team news is now and Jake Bibby will be pushing for a place in the side.

Josh Jones is still absent as is Joe Greenwood and Oliver Wilson.

Olly Russell after a nasty hamstring tear is out so young halfback Kieran Rush comes into the thinking.

The young Jamaican international has huge potential and could get a debut.

In form Sam Halsall is in the fold once more.

Catalans boss Steve McNamara has named his squad to travel to Huddersfield on Friday in the Super League Round 9 clash at the John Smith’s Stadium.

Sam Tomkins and Bastien Scimone are back in the squad and replace Micky McIlorum and Alrix Da Costa.

Having Sam Tomkins back is a huge boost given he is one of the best in Super League.
