O’Loughlin not focused on fairy tale ending

Wigan Warriors captain Sean O’Loughlin insists he is not focusing on a possible fairy tale ending for his career on Friday.

O’Loughlin will lead the Warriors out for the final time in the Super League Grand Final against St Helens on Friday. If Wigan win, it will be O’Loughlin’s fifth title, ten years after he lifted his first.

Although he does admit it would be nice to look back on those sorts of symmetries.

He said: “There are loads of fairy tale endings there. Obviously any Grand Final win to finish your career would be nice.

“But there is no right for me to get them. I am not going to get any privileges. Jammer and the Saints boys are in the same position.

“You will not get any favours because of it. It would be great after the game to look back.

“Whoever wins will be the best team on the night. Any kind of fairy tale finish would wait until the end.”
