Oldham sign experienced forward

Oldham have confirmed the signing of forward Daniel Igbinedion from Dewsbury Rams for the 2020 season.

He was a junior at London Broncos before a spell at Oxford caught the attention of Castleford Tigers. Short spells at Dewsbury, Featherstone Rovers and Sheffield Eagles followed before he made the permanent switch to the Rams.

The 24-year-old will join former Dewsbury teammates Cameron Leeming and Jode Sherriffe in signing for the League One Playoff winners.

Head Coach Matt Diskin told the club website: “He’s a good addition to the squad.”

“He’s a big, strong lad, very athletic and a player who can give us additional power and go-forward.

“He’s got lots of Championship experience and I see him as a middle-channel man, who will complement the talents of our other forwards.”

Igbinedion added: “I’ll be 25 next month and I’ve got a fair bit of Championship experience so I’m looking forward to a fresh start at Oldham.”
