Off-contract Wigan Warriors forward lands new club for 2027

Wigan Warriors forward Tiaki Chan has made his loan move at Toulouse Olympique a permanent one, after putting pen to paper on a new contract.

Chan, who only managed two appearances for the Wigan club, both of which came in 2024, has spent 2026 on loan in France. He spent the first part of the season at Catalans Dragons, before a switch to Toulouse came about in April.

After making 10 appearances for Sylvain Houles’ side, he has now sealed his future and will spend the rest of this season, as well as 2027 and 2028, at the Olympians.

The contract also has an option for a further year, should both the player and club wish to extend his time for an extra 12 months.

The four-time French international joined Wigan ahead of the 2024 season, but has spent the vast majority of his time out on loan. In 2024, he represented Hull FC nine times, before 2025 saw him play the full season with Salford Red Devils.

“I’m very happy to be here and to have signed for the club,” Chan said to Toulouse’s club website after signing. “I can’t wait to see what we can achieve with this team. I love the direction the club is heading in and I hope to be part of it for years to come.”
