Featherstone Rovers have announced the permanent signing of Connor Barley from Hull KR on a short-term deal.
Barley has joined up with the West Yorkshire outfit on an initial deal until the end of the season, having spent a brief period with Fev earlier in the season on dual registration. The outside back was off contract at Craven Park, but he has made the move to Post Office Road and he’s expected to be involved in the side over the final two regular games of the season.
Featherstone are currently fifth in the Championship table and Barley will be hoping to represent the club in the Championship play-offs, too.
Barley leaves Hull KR having made four appearances for the club, with three coming in the 2022 Super League campaign as a teenager.
Since then he has represented York Knights, London Broncos and Featherstone, with two spells coming at the latter.
“Connor is someone that we all on the coaching staff know very well and has spent some time with the club on dual-registration over the last two years,” head coach Paul Cooke said on the signing of Barley.
“Connor is a big, athletic, strong player who can play a multitude of positions.
“Myself, Ged and Ian believe he has lots of potential, at just 20 years old his best rugby league is ahead of him and we as coaches are looking forward to working with him to make sure he fulfils that potential at Featherstone Rovers.
“It will be good for the club and Connor to work permanently together to improve him as a person and player.”
