Hull KR forward Zach Fishwick will head to the Championship this week in a bid to find senior game time.
Fishwick made his Robins debut in 2022, aged 17, and played seven games that year, but after that has failed to find any game time since Willie Peters’ arrival.
This year, he has made just four senior appearances, featuring for Halifax Panthers in May and June. This week will see him return to West Yorkshire, but it won’t be the Panthers that he links up with.
Instead, the 21-year-old will feature for Batley Bulldogs, who have relied on a number of Super League youngsters in recent weeks.
Wigan’s Josh Cartwright, Finn McMillan and Finlay Yeomans have spent time there, as has Leeds’ Jacob Stead.
The Bulldogs currently sit ninth in the second tier, and take on Doncaster RLFC this week in a huge game as the play-offs loom.
A Batley defeat could see them drop out of the top 10, depending on other results going against them.
Fishwick could use this chance to put himself in the shop window, with his current Hull KR contract expiring at the end of the season.
He is one of four Robins players without a deal for 2027, with Tevita Pangai Jr, Leon Ruan and Lee Kershaw the others.
