England international Paige Travis has penned a two-year deal to join NRLW side Parramatta Eels ahead of the new season.
The St Helens back-rower makes the switch after spending her entire career to date with the Saints, making 65 appearances for the club in total. In that time Travis has won every domestic trophy available in the Northern Hemisphere and she’ll be looking to build on that Down Under.
The Eels finished fifth last season in the Australian competition, just falling short of the play-off picture. However, Travis will be keen to help them over the line in 2025 as she looks to add to her trophy haul.
“I am thrilled to be joining the Parramatta Eels and to challenge myself in the NRLW,” Travis said. “I’ve watched a lot of the NRLW games, and the Eels have really impressed me as a team who play with passion and for each other.
“I look forward to meeting the girls and bringing my experience to the squad next year.”
The Eels’ GM of football Mark O’Neill added: “The Parramatta Eels are excited to sign a player of the calibre of Paige Travis.
“Paige brings a wealth of experience at Test, World Cup, and club level, and her exceptional footwork and strength will be a fantastic addition to our squad. NRLW fans will be in for a treat when Paige takes to the field in the Blue & Gold and displays some of that Lancashire magic.”
Travis has made eight appearances for England and she has the opportunity to add to that in March after being named in the train-on squad England’s clash with the Australia in Las Vegas.
