NRL star set for Super League move

Right now the talk is all about signings.
The rumour mill is in full swing at the minute and yesterday we saw plenty of discussion and news.
One story centred around NRL forward Franklin Pele who was linked with a move to Hull FC only for that rumour to be shut down by Canterbury Bulldogs Chief Phil Gould and Hull boss Tony Smith.
Pele might not be Super League bound but another NRL forward could be.
That man is Lachlan Fitzgibbon of the Newcastle Knights.
The second-row has played 108 games for the Knights scoring 30 tries since his debut in 2015.
According to the Newcastle Herald, the backrower is open to a move to Super League in 2024 and beyond.
That said, he is keeping his options open in the NRL too.
The reason behind his potential move has been explained by the Mole of Wide World of Sports.
“Lachlan has been a Knight since 2015 and wants to stay,” a member of Fitzgibbon’s management team told the Mole.
“But like a lot of clubs, the Knights have salary cap issues and that complicates things.
“We will sit down with him soon and decide what his next move is.”
There are a number of clubs who could benefit from signing him and the impact of Paul Vaughan at Warrington Wolves shows the value of brining in someone like Fitzgibbon.
This year the likes of Rhys Kennedy, Jesse Sue and Sam Lisone have all made big impacts at their new clubs in the shape of Hull KR and Leeds Rhinos.
Can Fitzgibbon do the same if he makes the move across to Super League next year.
