The likes of Leeds Rhinos, Wigan Warriors, Warrington Wolves, Hull FC and Hull KR have all made major signings for next year many from the NRL.
Leeds have drafted in Lachie Miller and Matt Frawley from the NRL whilst Wigan have signed former Huddersfield Giants hooker Kruise Leeming, Warrington have signed Lachlan Fitzgibbon, Hull FC have signed Herman Ese’ese and Franklin Pele and Hull KR signing Peta Hiku.
Plenty of Super League’s best stars once played in the NRL and some of last year’s best off-season signings, such as Paul Vaughan, Jake Clifford and Adam Keighran, came from down under.
At time of writing there are still 40 NRL players who featured in the 2023 campaign that are off contract for the 2024 campaign.
Obviously all those won’t come to Super League but Fox Sports Australia have ran through some of the major names and touted two players with major NRL experience for a Super League switch.
One is centre Brenko Lee who has been linked with Wigan previously, the 27-year-old having been released by the Dolphins and now seemingly destined for Super League per Fox.
Lee has played 88 NRL games and has formerly played for Queensland so would likely prove an excellent pick up for any Super League side.
The other player has had less links but brings almost twice as much experience as Lee and than is Sydney Roosters’ Nathan Brown.
The 30-year-old loose forward has almost 150 games of NRL experience and played in the Grand Final for Parramatta Eels in 2022.
After just a year with the Roosters he looks set to be on the move and Fox report that the move could well be to Super League.
They are quoted as saying: “The 30-year-old might be at the end of his NRL career and could be headed for a final payday in the Super League.”
This would be no surprise and something that plenty of NRL veterans do but he’s now another name to keep an eye out for.
One major Super League signing could be Jackson Hastings as well as per a shock report from Wide World of Sports.
