NRL star Nathan Cleary spotted with Hull KR players ahead of Grand Final

Nathan Cleary of the Panthers celebrates with the rugby league trophy over Wigan Warriors. Hull KR

The greatest Rugby League player in the world, Nathan Cleary, has been spotted with three members of the Hull KR set-up ahead of the Grand Final.

NRL star Cleary is fresh off the back of winning a fourth consecutive NRL Grand Final with Penrith Panthers writing yet more history last weekend when they defeated Melbourne Storm 14-6.

Since then, Cleary has jetted over to England to see his girlfriend Mary Fowler who plays for Manchester City but it also seems that the Australian star has met with several members of the Hull KR squad prior to tonight’s Grand Final.

That’s been confirmed after a fan took to social media to share an image of Cleary alongside former Catalans Dragons man Mitchell Pearce, incoming Hull KR signing Micky McIlorum, former captain Shaun Kenny-Dowall and current player Tyrone May.

Cleary is familiar with both Pearce and May from his time with Penrith whilst Kenny-Dowall is one of the NRL’s most notorious players anyway with he and Cleary doing battle on numerous occasions.

It is interesting to see incoming Hull KR signing Micky McIlorum with the group, indicating that he may well also be in attendance at tonight’s Grand Final between Rovers and Wigan Warriors.

The image was shared by X user Nigel Wiskar with the caption: “Altrincham Market has many joys – not least this galaxy of talent. My lad nearly exploded when he saw Cleary. All gents with the pic. Williw Peters here too, very relaxed before the big game. Wigan Warriors v Hull KR a very tasty prospect on the horizon.”

It seems that the Hull KR squad have been very relaxed prior to the big game, something that is perhaps surprising seeing that this is their maiden bow at a Grand Final, however, one that is certainly reflective of Tyrone May’s ‘cruisy’ personality.

It would also seem likely that Cleary will be in attendance of the Grand Final, something that could be a massive advert for the game with the world’s very best watching the pinnacle of the sport in England.
