NRL star could be set for permanent Super League switch

We have seen plenty of major signings for 2024 from Leeds Rhinos, Wigan Warriors, Warrington Wolves and Hull KR in recent weeks and months but some clubs are still working hard to sign stars immediately.

Castleford Tigers have been linked with a stunning move for George Burgess and Kayal Iro immediately whilst Leigh Leopards haven’t ruled out an immediate signing as well.

Wakefield Trinity recently confirmed the arrival of former Hull FC centre Josh Griffin whilst on the other side of the city Hull KR brought in Brad Schneider who had the perfect debut against Leeds Rhinos nailing the winning drop goal.

“That’s what you dream of hey, on debut as well didn’t really didn’t think it would turn out like that but yeah over the moon with it and yeah very happy we came away with a win at the end,” he said on BBC Radio Humberside.

“Nah it’s been good, got amongst the group pretty early and it was a very, I was at the derby last week so that was a very good start for me and getting around the boys early and it’s been a very good week. I’ve enjoyed the first week I’ve been here and can’t wait for the next couple of weeks.

“Yeah, it was tricky conditions. It was pretty windy and wet out there so we just tried to keep it as simple as possible. Obviously, it was my first week here so I just tried to keep it as simple as possible.

“We did let them come into the game a bit, I thought, and that’s just on the back of a bit of our kicks and that, relieving the pressure. But at the end, the boys stuck it out, the effort, you can’t fault that. So that’s what got us over the line.”

He also had huge praise for the fans: “Yeah, they’re unreal mate, they’re unreal, I love them and I look forward to the next few weeks and months coming ahead and being a part of it and yeah they’re awesome for the win too.”

Initially it seemed like the young halfback would only stay in the UK till the end of the year but there has now been a twist in his future with Wide World of Sports reporting that Canberra have signed Ethan Sanders.

This could see him stay in UK.
