Super League news, in fact rugby league news in general, is being dominated by transfer stories at the moment with announcements and rumours across Super League including at Leeds Rhinos, Wigan Warriors, Warrington Wolves, Hull FC and Hull KR.
Leeds Rhinos have drafted in Mickael Goudemand for 2024 and have been linked with former Huddersfield Giants star Danny Levi with talk that they could lose Aidan Sezer at the end of the year.
They are expected to have a couple of quota spots available for the 2024 season and it has been suggested that they will use one on a forward and they were linked with Newcastle Knights second-row Lachlan Fitzgibbon but missed out on the forward with Warrington Wolves tying down the Australian for next year.
The Wolves aren’t the only one to sign from the NRL. We have seen Hull KR sign Oliver Gildart and Peta Hiku from the NRL whilst Wigan Warriors have drafted in former Leeds and Huddersfield Giants hooker Kruise Leeming.
They have also been linked with NRL centre Brenko Lee at The Dolphins by The Mole.
This demonstrates how Super League clubs will look to the NRL for new faces and another target has emerged in Wests Tigers’ Alex Seyfarth.
The Wests Tigers backrow has reportedly told he can leave the club at the end of the year which will see him appear on the radar of a number of NRL clubs.
He has made 40 NRL appearances since his debut in 2020.
At 24 years old he would be a signing with huge potential. He stands at a massive 6 foot four so would be a very dangerous weapon as an edge backrow.
Could the Rhinos consider a move for him having missed out on Fitzgibbon?
One concern would be he has suffered from a serious MCL injury in the past.
