NRL pair fined after breaking lockdown

Melbourne Storm winger Josh Addo-Carr and South Sydney Rabbitohs centre Latrell Mitchell have both been fined after they photographed breaking lockdown rules.

The pair were photographed on a camping trip on Saturday with 10 other men. The post was on Addo-Carr’s Instagram page, which has now been deleted.

The NRL said in a statement: “Our players are role models and we expect them to lead by example during this pandemic.

“We are embarking on a significant education program to ensure our players understand what is acceptable behaviour ahead of the resumption of training.

“When training resumes our players and officials must comply with biosecurity protocols that go further than current government restrictions.

“On face value, the image is both disappointing and an unacceptable breach of health orders.”

Both have since taken to Instagram to apologise for any harm caused.
