NRL move unlikely for England Head Coach following rumoured contract agreement with surprise team

England Rugby Union Head Coach Eddie Jones looks set for a move to another Union side after previously stating he’d like to try his hand at Rugby League.
Jones has been offered an eight year role with USA Rugby Union when his contract with England runs out at the end of 2023.
The move is somewhat surprising after his previous statements surrounding his desire to work in Rugby League, particularly at his boyhood club the South Sydney Rabbitohs.
Whilst visting the Penrith Panthers facilities earlier in the year, He called the opportunity to coach Souths his “Dream job”.
“I like the game,” Jones said about Rugby League. “If there was an opportunity there I would jump at it, but the reality is it’s probably not going to be there.”
Jones went on to talk about his lifelong love of the Bunnies: “That would be the dream team. That would be the dream.”
“From the age of five, I’ve supported Souths. That would be fantastic. I loved the old teams with Ronnie Coote, Bob McCarthy, John Sattler and Eric Simms.”
With The Sydney Moring Herald stated the contract Jones is set to sign is rumored to last until 2031.
At 62 years of age Jones would be in his seventies by the time his rumored contract would expire, leaving the likelihood of him ever taking up a role within Rugby League pretty low.
