The Newcastle Knights could be about to lose one of their most exciting young players with a number of Super League clubs chasing halfback Ryan Rivett.
Last year, Rivett made his NRL debut against The Dolphins in Round 3 and is currently a part of the Knights’ Top 30 roster. That being said, his contract expires at the end of this season and as of now he has not made a move to renew it.
He could follow Lachlan Fitzgibbon and Lachie Miller on the way to Super League after they both moved to join Warrington Wolves and Leeds Rhinos respectively.

With the halfback off-contract at the end of 2024, Wide World of Sports and others in Australia have reported that several Super League clubs are eager to sign the 21-year-old Rivett.
Furthermore, it is understood that if he receives a good offer from overseas, the Knights could grant him an early release from his contract meaning he could make the move ahead of the new season.

Former Wakefield Trinity and Bradford Bulls star Ben Jeffries has now arrived at Newcastle as their Women’s Head Coach.
Jeffries brings a wealth of experience and expertise to the role, having spent several years working in professional rugby league systems both in Australia and overseas.
His previous roles included Head Coach of the Women’s Indigenous All Stars, PNG Women’s National team and the North Queensland Cowboys in the NRLW competition.
Jeffries also previously played in the NRL playing 28 games between 2001-02 before going over to the English Super League where he would make over 250 appearances at the Wakefield Trinity Wildcats and the Bradford Bulls.
Having grown up playing his junior footy in Newcastle while first beginning his coaching career at the Knights, the new Coach spoke about returning home to help steer the NRLW squad into the future.
