NRL halfback finds new club after being linked with Super League move

NRL halfback Ryley Jacks has found a new club.

Last season, the Manchester Evening News revealed that Jacks was a name that was placed on the desks of Super League clubs after finding his role within the Melbourne Storm set-up coming to an end.

Nothing came of that speculation and Jacks instead found a role within the Brisbane Tigers club.

Speaking of his full-time return to the Tigers, Jacks said “one of the reasons I came back to Easts was because it’s where I started my football journey when I was a 6-year old at Scott Park and then all the way through to Colts.

“There has always been that history there for me, along with my Grandad Donald Baker (Tiger #356) playing here in the early 50’s and my dad Terry being the skills coach here when they last won in 1991.

“I’m really looking forward to the season but we have a lot of work to put in before then, which starts next week”, said Jacks to the Tigers’ website.

Jacks came through the Melbourne Storm set-up to make his debut in 2017, making 25 appearances before swapping the Storm for the Gold Coast Titans.

However, the 29-year-old’s stay there was short lived and Jacks spent just a season before returning to Melbourne.

He was then told he would not be given another contract which prompted a Super League question, but he has instead found himself with Storm’s feeder team, Brisbane Tigers in the Queensland Cup.
