NRL forward set for Super League move

Kane Evans’ move to Super League is picking up pace, with the New Zealand Warriors becoming increasingly frustrated with the forward.

Fijian international Evans still has a contract for 2022 at the Warriors, but has found it difficult going since joining the club last season.

A poor disciplinary record, including a six-game ban for punching in the Warriors’ 44-0 defeat to the Gold Coast Titans, and a lack of form has left the Warriors wanting to offload the 29-year-old.

Not only had Evans incurred a six-match ban, but he was scathed for writing “fold some c…” on his wrist tape for the round 18 game against Penrith and given a hefty $5000 fine.

With no offers from NRL clubs, Evans’ only destination remains Super League with speculation of a move continuing to heat up as some clubs get ready for a big rebuild.
