NRL forward set for huge Super League move

Wigan Warriors, Leeds Rhinos and Hull KR have announced some big signings for the 2024 season whilst Warrington Wolves, St Helens and Huddersfield Giants have reportedly nailed down targets that have yet to be officially announced.

But the signings that have been announced include Hull FC star Chris Satae’s move to Catalans Dragons, former Leeds and Huddersfield hooker Kruise Leeming is headed to Wigan as is Sam Walters and Tiaki Chan.

Chan’s Catalans teammate Mickael Goudemand is headed to Leeds whilst Hull KR have signed Oliver Gildart, Peta Hiku and former Castleford Tigers and Hull FC target AJ Wallace from Bradford Bulls.

But more signings are set to be announced whilst others begin to develop behind the scenes.

Many of these will start in the NRL with Super League clubs looking down under for potential recruits.

Now Serious About Rugby League understands that the Warrington Wolves and Salford Red Devils, as well as other interested Super League clubs, are interested in signing NRL man James Roumanos.

Roumanos is a versatile forward and a Lebanon international and played against the likes of New Zealand and Australia in the World Cup last year.

He currently plies his trade at Manly Sea Eagles.

He is receiving plenty of interest from the Super League clubs but Serious About Rugby League understands that it is Salford and Warrington who are in pole position in the race to sign the forward.

It is no surprise to see the Wolves mentioned in the same breath as the Lebanon forward.

They have lost Thomas Mikaele to Gold Coast Titans as well as agreeing the mutual release of Josh McGuire following his seven match ban for comments allegedly said to Leigh Leopards star Josh Charnley.

It has to be reminded that other clubs in the UK are interested in him and thus Warrington and Salford will face stiff competition.
