NRL forward Sam Stone arrives in the UK ahead of Leigh move

Leigh Centurions’ new signing Sam Stone has touched down in the UK ahead of making his debut for the club in the near future.

The Lancashire club posted a photo on Instagram of the 24-year-old, with the caption “Look who has arrived in the UK.”

Stone has played a total of 39 NRL games across periods with the Newcastle Knights and the Gold Coast Titans, but will now try his hand in the UK top flight, having become another one of chairman Derek Beaumont’s mid-season signings.

Leigh are currently bottom of Super League with no wins from 16 games, but face Salford Red Devils at home this upcoming Sunday in a fixture that Kurt Haggerty’s men will be targeting.

Salford themselves have won just five games all season, but enjoyed success last weekend, beating Huddersfield Giants 18-12.
