There has been plenty of talk about a number of Super League stars who could head down under to the NRL.
One type of player in particular has been halfbacks especially with the likes of Wests Tigers and Canterbury Bulldogs in the market for a halfback.
The Tigers even offered Catalans Dragons star Mitchell Pearce a $1.5 million contract which was turned down at first.
Recently it has been reported that Pearce is set to join former club Sydney Roosters in 2024 in a surprise reunion according to the Daily Telegraph.
The halfback recently said he is open to a move back down under. He is in the final year of his contract but has an option for another year.
However, now Roosters boss Trent Robinson has dismissed these claims saying to Fox League: “There’s no truth to that.”

However, Robinson did say that Pearce would be with the Roosters again hinting that he will take up a role within the club one day:
“He’s a lifelong Rooster and we’re obviously supporting him from afar.
“The Catalans are playing good footy and they’re on a bit of a roll over there with a lot of ex-Roosters.
“He’ll be back at the Roosters doing something at some point. We’re looking forward to that when he’s done at the Catalans.”
