NRL clubs chase St Helens star

At least two NRL teams are interested in signing St Helens half-back Theo Fages, according to Fox Sports.

The French international has started the season in blistering form and with Saints still yet to tie him down to a new deal, NRL clubs are beginning to circle.

With a record number of Super League imports impressing in Australia’s premier competition, reports are suggesting that Fages is already speaking to several clubs about a move.

The 24-year-old started his career at Salford and earned a big move to St Helens in 2016, where up until this year he has struggled to nail down a first-team place.

However, Fages has dislodged promising England youngster Danny Richardson in the halves this season and is showing his best form wearing a Saints shirt.

Having made over 150 Super League appearances and earned 12 caps for France, Fages is very experienced and now in the prime of his career.

It is expected that he will make a decision over the next two weeks on whether to move Down Under for 2020, with St Helens resigned to losing one of their key players.
