NRL club told to let go of star halfback who delayed Wigan Warriors star’s reported move

200 game former NRL star Wendall Sailor has told Parramatta Eels that they will have to let go of one of their star halfbacks as offers of over a million come in for both Dylan Brown and Mitchell Moses.

It was Mitchell Moses who reportedly delayed John Bateman’s move from Wigan Warriors to the Tigers in 2023 as the Tigers focused on trying to bring Moses to the club.

Sailor has told the Eels they may have to let go of Moses which could re-ignited the all hands on deck pursuit of the halfback and further delay progress on Bateman.

“I don’t think you can keep both halves,” Sailor said on Triple M.

“I know they work well together, but you can’t afford to pay both your halves $1 million each.

“I just don’t think it is viable. One of them will have to go.

“I think Mitch Moses is the guy likely to move to another club. We have seen it done before.

“I know the Tigers really want him back there and Benji Marshall is there, so you never know.”

“The Bulldogs have got some good troops there. If they got Moses there that would be a coup,” Sailor said.

“It would be perfect timing. He is 28 Mitch Moses. I like the way he plays.

“I just don’t think that the Eels can have both of them there, but it is testing times for the Parramatta Eels.”
