NRL club to have $1 million war chest and turn attention to world class youngster who impressed at Leeds Rhinos and St Helens in World Cup

Jeremiah Nanai has been making plenty of headlines in recent weeks.

The teenage sensation caught the eye at North Queensland Cowboys in 2022 and made his Australian debut in the Rugby League World Cup starring at Leeds Rhinos’ Headingley Stadium against Fiji before picking up the Man of the Match in the win over Italy at St Helens’ Totally Wicked Stadium.

This has made him one of the most sought after players around at the present moment.

He reportedly turned down a “monster” $4.2 million offer and is being tipped to stay at the Cowboys.

However, the Cowboys will have to fend off interest from another club if they want to keep him.

That’s because the Gold Coast Titans could offer him $1 million a season to tempt him to the club which would be worth more than the original $4.2 million offer.

This comes as the club fears losing star David Fifita with links of a $1 million move to new club The Dolphins intensify.

$1 million appears to be the magic number with the Dolphins also set to launch a $1 million pursuit of New Zealand international and Parramatta Eels star Dylan Brown according to the Daily Telegraph.

So, it could be a busy period of negotiations especially where big numbers are concerned.
