Super League has started with a bang in 2025 and there are an array of new signings making their impact on the competition.
One of them is none other than Jared Waerea-Hargreaves, who was a blockbuster signing for Hull KR ahead of this current campaign when he put pen to paper on a 12-month contract last year.
Rovers started a bit shaky in the first two games as they only just edged past both Castleford Tigers and Wakefield Trinity. But an impressive away win at St Helens re-established KR as one of the teams to beat.
Waerea-Hargreaves, meanwhile, produced his best display in a KR shirt at the Totally Wicked Stadium, dominating through the middle during his stints on the field.
But KR fans might be a little worried about some of the reports Down Under which have linked the fiery forward with a return to the NRL.
His old side Sydney Roosters are having a terrible time of things at the moment and well respected Aussie journalist Phil Rothfield has suggested that the Roosters should buy the prop out of his Super League contract. But the veteran journo went further and even suggested that the Sydney club ‘didn’t rule out’ the idea when he floated it to sources this week.
“I reckon they should bring Jared Waerea-Hargreaves back, they should buy out his contract at Hull KR. He’s going enormous over there,” Rothfield said this week on Triple.
“That footy team, that young side lack any sort of authority on the football field and that’s even with a Kangaroos prop in Lindsay Collins there. They’ve got to do something drastic to quickly fix that.
“What I’m saying about Hargreaves is, he’s a culture player. I spoke to a couple of Roosters people over the weekend and they didn’t totally rule it out.”

An Ozzy reporter suggests they should re-sign JWH and suddenly all the news is that the Roosters are going to re- sign him, having let him go at the end of last season.
Lot of nonsense – do your jobs and find some news to report, not wild speculation.
