A number of Super League clubs have free quota spots available for 2025.
Therefore, they will be looking to NRL players to reinforce their side for the upcoming campaign.
One man that may be of interest to Super League sides is Corey Oates, who was a Grand Finalist for Brisbane Broncos in his over 200 games for the club since 2013.
So far a one-club player, he has also represented Queensland in State of Origin nine times between 2016 and 2022.
In his two matches against Super League sides, he has scored three tries – against Wigan Warriors and Warrington Wolves in the World Club Series.
He is the only player from their 2015 NRL Grand Final remaining, but may not be with the club for much longer.
NRL club legend could make a Super League move
The winger, 29 years old, is only contracted until the end of the year, and it seems that he isn’t going to have his contract extended any futher.
He said to reporters, via Yahoo Sports Australia: “The club’s sort of, they haven’t come forward with an offer yet and they’ve said they probably won’t.
“I’m still hopeful I can change peoples’ minds pretty easily. I’ve got to go out there and perform the way I know I can, and hopefully give me that…one more roll of the dice left and see what they can do.
“I’d love to do as much as I can for that club and be part of it. There are really good players there and it’s a really good culture in the playing group. There’s a lot of positive things ahead. It would be nice to be offered one more year with the club.”
He has said he wouldn’t like to join another NRL club, meaning a move to Super League seems to be his only option.
